If I can dig up my heavily played VHS I'll e-mail ya, but I plan on visiting BestBuy to replace it with a DVD copy... they've got enough copies (and I think shipping's free online), but not enough to trip over... LOL
Back when Laserdisc was the medium of choice I stocked up on the Rush vids: Exit.., A Show Of Hands, Grace Under Pressure Tour (great quality, audio & video), Chronicles... Oh, & Sting: MTV Unplugged, Soul Cages Tour, Video Collection, Fields Of Gold Video Collection.
My comp's not TOTL (Top Of The Line, hehe) or anything, but I can xfer these vids for you, just ask T-Bo and Roy C. how their copies turned out of vids I've xferred for them.
Happy Holidays!!!

Anyone have a copy of this that they could trade? Or, if u know where to get it...I've been lookin 4 this 1 in VHS OR DVD for eons & can't find it [it was EVERYWHERE back at the time - u could've TRIPPED over it if u weren't careful!!]...[ - duh, maybe i'll check Rush's Off. Site]...TBo [in the "Stv Smith, pt. 2" topic] reminded me of what a great live concert this was at the time...i do have the CD...thot it'd be kewl to add to the ol' collect'n, being an old Rush fan years ago, & all...as a "power rock trio w/ vox," i tho they kicked butt back then...energetic songs...Neil was a masterful storyteller/lyricist, 4 the most part [when he didn't get TOO far out there in lyrical 'self-indulgence land,' which wasn't too often - thank goodness! (& [thank] Elvis...& the Queen...& 'Snyders of Hanover Honey-Mustard & Onion pretzel Nibblers'....)]

Show Of Hands is signifigant because it shows the drum solo. ESL does not but should (the solo on the live cd is one of the best ever recorded IMO.)
As far as ESL on DVD, where are you guys getting this info? I don't think it's even available on DVD. Chronicles is the only rush DVD release I'm aware of.
I have dreamed of a ESL dvd with additional drum solo footage, but that is a Polygram release and RUSH switched to Atlantic on the Presto release (early 90's). I can't see Polygram doing something like that.

WHAT?! No NP DRUM SOLO on the ESL vid?!! [Thanx 4 the explan, tho - that makes sense, even tho it's still a major bummer ] - Rush should MAKE Polygram do it!!!
That's a total travesty, as that IS the definitive documenation of THE NP drum solo - his "best" recorded, IMHO - better than the 1's on either "Show of Hands" or "All the World's A Stage," IMO, 4 sure!
BTW - the drum solo on the ESL LP/casst/CD is an edited version of his actual solo at that time period; it was actually a li'l longer than on that record'g, w a few more parts/sections. I know this from memory; also, I've heard 2 boots fr that tour that confirmed what i'd remembered - 1 of which i bought @ a record store yrs ago [which was stolen @ a party-duh], & 1 that's an mp3 from [i hate to admit it!] Napster...
1. There was an extended snare-only part [intro], similar to the 1 on "SOH," to which he added dbl-kix & hat 'hits/kicks;'
2. the "Kentucky Derby" part played melodically on the 6, 8, 10, 12" small concert-toms into a longer section of small-toms & then small-toms & timbales section];
3. , there was more to the "lower toms" part of the solo [12, 13, 15, 18," & snare];
4. , there was more lower tom/snare stuff, includg the "hand-crossover" sticking between the snare & floor tom [that, if i remb corr, is on SOH].
I really enjoyed the ESL CD [even tho it doesn't include "Passage to Bangkok" like the double-album did]. It has YYZ [w/ NP solo], Xanadu, Free Will, Diff Strgs, & LA VILLA S... on it, which r some of my AT Rush favs, AWA those killer live crowd versions of Red Barch & Free Will...
The only thing i didnt like about it was the "too-subdued" gtr trax, most noticeable [or not!] in Spirit of Radio...but i agree w/ SH that this is their DEFINITIVE live recordg.
But, OTOH, 'SOH' was really good too....
Not only were they a really cool AOR-radio rock band w/ vox @ the time, but they earned it, as they were definitely NOT "radio-rotation darlings" @ 1st [& 4 the longest time]...they def did NOT fit into what u would call the typical commercial schlock that was commonly in heavy rotation at the time [& as it always seems to be]....
